DOT +67

The virus result is back and it was negative. Which means Monday it looks like they will do a bone marrow biopsy to test further. These test will be to see what the density of the bone marrow looks like and for virus' or other problems that could be keeping the bone marrow from producing the amount it needs.

My white count is now .7 and I needed another unit of blood today. I am feeling pretty tired these days but doing ok. I don't look as sick as I am, which is a good thing!

Not too much else to report. We are good here and anxious for what will happen this week. Hopefully progress!

So sorry to hear things haven't been progressing as hoped.

I know you are tired of being strong. But strong is what you're stuck with. You can go outside and scream, find a quiet place and cry, beat the life out of a pillow, and fall down. But then you get back up. Because that's who you are. People like you don't have any other choice. You shine, you soar. You show the rest of us how it's done.

Just remember "Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end."

Thanks for not hiding your light under a bush. It really does help the rest of us see.

This is our blog to share the journey of a stem cell transplant between two brothers. Burns, who was diagnosed with CGD at age 2, and has been fighting the disease ever since. Burns needed at stem cell transplant in order to cure his illness. His older brother John, was recently tested by Dr. Rebecca Buckley, Burns' doctor since age two, and is a perfect stem cell donor match. With many prayers and advances in medicine, a bone marrow transplant is now an option for a "cure".

Here is where we begin our journey. Laura, Burns' wife, and Burns will be moving to Durham, January 1oth to be close to Duke. The blog will be updated by Laura, Burns, Derry (Burns & John Mom) John and Eliza (John's wife).
