DOT +32

Hey it's John.

Came up to hang out with Burns for a few days and relieve my parents. His numbers were about the same today and we are still playing the waiting game. Laura is recovering well and hopes to be back in a few days. I know Burns will be glad to see her! Spirits are fair to partly cloudy around here but that's to be expected. The days are long and it's no fun feeling bad. I hurt for him like you can only imagine. The support and encouragement remains tremendous and that really helps him during the tough times.

I just know some good news is right around the corner. If not, he'll do what he does best and find a way to persevere.

P.S. Despite a really rough hour or two this afternoon we still found a way to laugh for a few minutes!

Burns,John & the whole family....Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and realize that sometimes our richest blessings take awhile and patience is of essence. doubt is never good...Hope and Belief always best. This is our blog to share the journey of a stem cell transplant between two brothers. Burns, who was diagnosed with CGD at age 2, and has been fighting the disease ever since. Burns needed at stem cell transplant in order to cure his illness. His older brother John, was recently tested by Dr. Rebecca Buckley, Burns' doctor since age two, and is a perfect stem cell donor match. With many prayers and advances in medicine, a bone marrow transplant is now an option for a "cure".

Here is where we begin our journey. Laura, Burns' wife, and Burns will be moving to Durham, January 1oth to be close to Duke. The blog will be updated by Laura, Burns, Derry (Burns & John Mom) John and Eliza (John's wife).
